Workday Developer, Compensation (Hybrid Testing & Support)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Workday Developer, Compensation to support the HR Technology function with testing, data setup, and ongoing operational support across Workday Compensation processes — including Merit, Bonus, and Stock.
This hybrid role combines hands-on functional testing with day-to-day operational support, providing coverage for the hiring manager while they participate in a key project. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, an in-depth understanding of Workday Compensation functionality, and experience ensuring data and process accuracy through disciplined testing and validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide backfill support for day-to-day Workday Compensation responsibilities.
- Execute functional and regression testing activities aligned with project timelines.
- Set up, maintain, and validate test data for Compensation cycles (Merit, Bonus, and Stock).
- Perform UAT, regression, and configuration testing for Workday updates and releases.
- Document test cases, outcomes, and evidence for review and sign-off.
- Identify, track, and manage defects; collaborate with technical and functional teams to resolve them.
- Support BAU (Business-As-Usual) Compensation tickets and troubleshoot configuration or data issues.
- Partner with HR Technology, Compensation COE, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure testing readiness and full coverage.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, and outcomes effectively to project leads and management.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of Workday experience, with emphasis on Advanced and Core Compensation.
- Proven experience testing end-to-end Compensation processes (Merit, Bonus, Stock).
- Strong understanding of eligibility rules, calculated fields, and condition logic in Workday.
- Ability to create and execute detailed test scripts, with accurate documentation of results.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Excel, Smartsheet, or similar testing and tracking tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting release or regression testing cycles.
- Familiarity with EIBs, reporting validation, and Workday Security.
- Prior experience supporting Compensation in a global environment.
- Workday Advanced Compensation Certification preferred.
