Senior Medical Affairs Operations Manager – Global Pharma

We are supporting a global pharmaceutical organisation in the appointment of a Senior Medical Affairs Operations Manager to support Medical Affairs strategy execution across a complex, matrixed environment.

This role partners closely with Disease Area and Regional Medical teams to drive operational excellence across annual medical planning, launch readiness, budgeting, and delivery of key Medical Affairs milestones. It sits at the centre of Medical Affairs governance and execution, ensuring strategic processes are delivered on time, in scope, and to a high quality standard.

Key responsibilities include

  • Lead and coordinate Medical Affairs Strategy Team forums, including governance cadence, agendas, decision tracking, and action follow up
  • Own the Medical Affairs business process calendar across insight generation, evidence generation planning, publication planning, and medical strategy development
  • Implement and maintain global operational templates such as annual medical plans, launch playbooks, and budget tools
  • Partner cross functionally with Medical, Clinical, Publications, HEOR, Commercial, and Regional teams to manage dependencies and alignment
  • Build and maintain milestone plans, timelines, dashboards, and executive level status reporting
  • Partner with Finance and Disease Area leads to plan, track, and reconcile budgets with auditable documentation
  • Support Grants and Investigator Initiated Studies operations through governance coordination, milestone tracking, and SOP adherence
  • Ensure inspection readiness, compliance with internal SOPs, and continuous improvement of processes and ways of working

This is an individual contributor role with no people management responsibilities. It is suited to a senior Medical Affairs operations or program management professional who enjoys bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to complex global organisations.
