We are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Medical Affairs to act as the operational right hand to the VP of US Medical Affairs. This senior operator will serve as a strategic force multiplier—translating leadership priorities into structured execution, maintaining portfolio clarity, and ensuring high‑discipline follow‑through across a complex, cross‑functional organisation.
This is a strategic, leadership‑adjacent, senior operational role.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership Enablement & Strategic Execution
Partner directly with the VP of US Medical Affairs to drive execution of strategic priorities
Translate leadership direction into actionable plans, milestones, and decision frameworks
Identify risks, dependencies, and trade‑offs, escalating with recommended solutions
Portfolio & Program Orchestration
Maintain end‑to‑end visibility over Medical Affairs initiatives, timelines, and resource allocations
Drive prioritisation across multiple workstreams balancing urgency, impact, and capacity
Coordinate alignment across Medical Affairs, Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, and Finance
Leadership Cadence & Governance
Plan and manage leadership team meeting agendas, pre‑reads, and decision documentation
Ensure accountable follow‑through on decisions and action items
Establish and optimise operating rhythms, governance processes, and communication flows
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Implement tools, trackers, and processes that improve execution discipline without adding bureaucracy
Identify workflow inefficiencies and develop solutions to enhance operational effectiveness
Support budget tracking, planning cycles, and resource allocation
Requirements
8+ years’ experience in Medical Affairs operations, biotech/pharma program leadership, or Chief‑of‑Staff‑type roles
Experience supporting VP‑level or executive leadership in complex, matrixed organisations
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities across a broad portfolio of initiatives
Proven ability to drive alignment and accountability without formal authority
Strong strategic judgement and ability to navigate ambiguity
