Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Animal Care Technician to join our team. As an Animal Care Technician, you will be responsible for providing daily care to rodents, ensuring their well-being, and maintaining the cleanliness of the facilities. This role requires a commitment to strict hygiene protocols, ethical animal treatment, and adherence to standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily care to rodents, including changing bedding, distributing water and food, and monitoring their general health.
• Conduct the cleaning and sanitization of equipment such as cages, grates, and water bottles.
• Perform cleaning duties for animal housing facilities.
• Receive animals, food, bedding, and housing equipment.
• Operate and maintain large laundry equipment, including autoclaves, bottle washers, washing tunnels, and peroxidation devices.
• Organize and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment.
• Ensure compliance with established hygiene standards, animal ethics, and work procedures (SOP).
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Work autonomously and demonstrate a high level of organization.
• Exhibit attention to detail and precision in tasks.
• Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to varying work demands.
• Maintain the ability to work in a controlled environment (cleanroom).
• Availability for weekend and holiday shifts.
• Proficient use of computer tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Basic oral proficiency in English is an asset.

Profile:

• Minimum qualification: CESS (Certificat d'Enseignement Secondaire Supérieur)
• Maximum qualification: Bachelor's degree
• Previous experience in handling animals, particularly rodents.
• Holder of a FELASA Cat A Certificate (B optional).
